DJ Tay James is the Official DJ for teen pop sensation, Justin Bieber. As Justin Bieber’s official DJ, James has been fortunate to travel the world and introduce his talent to thousands of fans across the globe. With over 4 million views on his YouTube Channel (YouTube.com/DJTayJames) and over 75,000 followers on his Twitter page (@DJTayJames), Tay James continues to be a favorite DJ for Pop, Hip-Hop and R&B music fans.

The first version of WeKnowTheDJ.com was a very simple black & white based blog with two columns, typically downloaded from one of the many ‘download a theme’ based websites across the web. The blog was only updated once or twice every few weeks and hits to the site were surprisingly low, as people weren’t aware the site existed, away from the then ‘main portal’ which was the YouTube channel.

We wanted to create a completely new & powerful custom built site from the ground up which was 110% dedicated to the fans in every way. The main demographic of visitors to the site were teenagers; and having been teenagers ourselves once, we knew what would make fans happy, and keep coming back !

We built a colorful and highly customizable design which fans would be able to interact with and personalise certain elements of the site to themselves. We also added strong sharing capabilitity across the site to promote sharing of content and encourage new and returning visitors.

Main features of the site incude:

  • Customizable Background Images, which are remembered upon you returning to the site.
  • The ability for fans to upload their own images from concerts and vote (‘like’) on other fan photos.
  • A built in Twitter application where users can also tweet @djtayjames directly without the need to visit Twitter itself.
  • Direct automatic integration with DJ Tay James YouTube channel.
  • Tabbed blog/news feed to allow for increased content on homepage without reloading. Lets users choose if they would only like to view a specific category. (e.g News, New Music, Albums, Music Videos, Movie Trailers.

Including downloadable mixtapes, tour dates, and more…
