Scorcher

We were commissioned to redesign Scorchers online presence across all networks, including his official website, after being signed to Geffen / Universal Music Group. We also worked with Scorcher previous to him being signed.

The brief was to encapsulate all information on just one page, enabling the user to find content easily and interact with Scorcher as an artist.

The color scheme was taken from Scorchers debut single ‘It’s My Time’ and was used for all media that we created. Different shades of blue can be seen in the above image, to add more character and vibrance.

We thought that the best way to display Scorcher’s content was in a grid-like layout, using squares to seperate information, with each square dedicated to a particular form of media such as a ‘News’ feed, Twitter Stream, Video box, and Tour Dates.

The site’s main purpose was interactivity with Scorcher and promoting his debut single. Users are able to follow Scorcher on Twitter, Find him on Facebook, view his debut single music video, share blog posts, and see when Scorcher is in their city performing. In addition to this, the site’s secondary purpose was to increase Scorchers followers across all major social networking sites.

Following the completion of ScorcherSkywalker.com, we created a new Myspace for Scorcher using the revamped Myspace 3.0 layout that Myspace were currently beta testing. Although this put many restrictions on what we could do visually, it allowed us to concentrate all our efforts into the marquee section at the top of the page, where we placed links to all of Scorchers social network sites; including iTunes, as well as a drop down area which displayed Scorchers new music video. Almost every part of the banner is clickable; promoting Scorcher’s other social network sites away from just Myspace.

The blue color scheme and imagery was used across all social networking sites, supporting a very effective marketing campaign.
